English Lesson and Resources
English Meets Research
English Meets Research
By Anna Greenhalgh
I chose to do this unit on research reports because so often we ask students to learn something and study it in class without deepening their knowledge of it. In this team-taught unit, students will be able to pick a topic that they would like to learn more about and conduct research about it. They will put together portfolios for their research as well. I chose to do this so that students would have these skills and be able to apply them to projects in the future. They will also practice close reading and inquiry skills that I hope will lead them to become eager, inquisitive learners and will encourage them to ask questions about all things in order to deepen their understanding of them.
